Mike,

    Sorry to hear about the startingproblem.  As a suggestion, I was
wondering could it be something such as a timing belt break?  As the other
responses have mentioned you have two choices: fuel and spark.  You probably
already thought of this but try taking one of the spark plugs out and set the
base near the opening to the engine block.  Watch for spark as someone turns
the car over.  If you have spark chances are it is a fuel problem.  If there
is no spark you have an ignition problem.  The thing that is strange about
your description is that the car "died" while driving.  It would seem that
something failed to cause this such as a fuel pump, timing belt, wet wires
etc..  Good Luck on the repair and please keep the list posted as to your
final resolution.
