Re: 200q alternator

Hi Don+ADs-

The alternator cooling hose is necessary, otherwise you will fill the
alternator with sand, gravel, insects, blown transport tires, and whatever
other road trash is laying about.
I believe the hose from the oil cooler you refer to is the cooling duct
for the right side engine mount.

+AD4-thanks to all those on the list that helped with my
+AD4-alternator warning light problem.
+AD4-
+AD4-first i'd replaced brushes, but warning light still came
+AD4-on. next i took alternator to small auto electric store
+AD4-where they pulled it apart. strator had several burned
+AD4-wires and there was also a bad bearing. bottom line
+AD4-was they would repair for 130 usf or sell me rebuild
+AD4-for 166 with 2 yr warranty. went for the rebuild.
+AD4-
+AD4-notice while doing this work that the cooling hose
+AD4-from the front valance to the alternator is missing.
+AD4-dealer wants 25 bucks for this hose. anyone have
+AD4-any other ideas for a source? would seem given
+AD4-my alternator meltdown that this hose is necessary.
+AD4-
+AD4-also see there is a hose from the back of the oil
+AD4-cooler that points toward a subframe bushing.
+AD4-should this be pointing towards the turbo?
+AD4-
+AD4-again thanks listers.
