this happens to me all the time.
it's mostly the shape and coloring of the taillight cluster that fools you.

and you wouldn't believe how many late 80's cars look like a 5000 when they
are in a junkyard without identifying headlights, grilles, bumpers, etc.
whenever someone designed an aero car in the 80's they looked at the 44
first...
