Don't have a clue.  However - other trivia:

German semi-legalese for "car" is "PKW" - Personenkraftwagen.

Same for "truck" is "LKW" - Lastkraftwagen.

So "DKW" _could_ be (speculating) Deutscher Kraftwagen.
