IMHO, it's a quicker process to call 800-822-AUDI and give them the VIN# in
order to find out if/when recalls were done or need to be done. Everytime I
called the dealers (four different ones) it was always a 10 minute hold or "I'll
need to call you back" since this information is housed in the AoA computer, not
their internal POS system which is never located at the service desk. They seem
to set up the AoA computers inside the cashier or financial office, or even on
the floor of the garage where it's handy for the mechanics.. But, you are
correct, they can can provide the information.
