I think the 20V 200TQ and the V8Q were in a new market for Audi - a
high-value car that wasn't explicitly a sports car - i.e., it wasn't a
20V ur-quattro or a Sport. New owners demanded new standards - aiming
at the luxury market, you get people used to luxury cars and you also
build a quieter car in which some things are more noticeable. I don't
worry abot small brake shimmies in the ur-quattro - if I'd bought a
V8Q, I might very well want a different standard.
The chief complaint about UFOs is disc prices. The chief reason for
swapout was shimmy. We _now_ know that you can largely cure this by
certain braking maneouvres.

They were having a lot of warranty replacement claims. Audi wanted to
save money.
