Pagid Pads

What is the scoop on Pagid pads for the Girling 60's on my 87 5ktq. For
the BMW they run around $50.....

I have them for my 87 5000tq. I think they make 3 different compounds, with probably 3 different prices. I have the rs4 pads which are for competition. Purchased from Joe Hoppin in Florida 2 years ago. trying to remember the price, think it was 179$ !!, yikes!!!, well I was using cool carbons before that which were ok, but not even close to the performance of these. Aside from destroying a set of rotors and eating the finish off the wheels they just did not stop as well. I originally wanted Hawk blue pads but they are not available for the g 60's. Hopefully before mid Ohio I will have 4 pot aluminum calipers=)....

Any suggestions on pad choice (Ferodo, Hawk, etc) for street use. I want
more bite and I am going for Ate Powerdisks soon....
Have a few friends that love the Ferodo pads.
As far as I can tell your best bet is a regular ATE rotor, no cross drilling or slotting. If anyone has any info that drilling or slotting improves braking please tell me, everything that I have read says that it is no longer necessary. drilling was used to vent gas produced by the bonding agents in the pads which is now a thing of the past. As far as I can tell drilling reduces thermal mass which is a bad thing, so other than a slight weight savings I do not think there is a benefit. Every time I go to a race I always look at the brakes on the cars. The ones that are using steel rotors never use cross drilled. This is something I have been trying to figure out for a long time and everyone seems to have their own opinion on the matter would love to hear from someone that has done some testing comparing the two.
