Re: '84 4KQ Questions
George,
I had a black 4kq that started my affair with the quattro. I drove it for over
250kmi. and it was still running strong when I sold it. It had the brown cloth
that was incredibly durable, and looked very good when I eventually sold it. It
also had no rust, and they do salt the streets in Montana, where it spend its
life. The only real difference between the 84 to 86 models was the lack of wing
windows (which is a good thing, because they were always noisy) and the areo
treatment to the front end. Can't imagine why a later interior wouldn't work in
the '84.
Other than the wind noise and a squishy go pedal, it was and still is the best
car I've ever owned, including the current '90cq!
Good luck,
John Cassidy
