Yup, crazy idea.  Won't fit.  Sorry.  The 924 engine was an Audi design
but was not used in any modern Audi and won't fit one without major
surgery.  The 944 engine more so.  Don't forget too, that the 924/944 has
a tranaxle layout where the engine is up front but the transmission
is in the rear.
