You won't need chains to get over the Sisks. Quattro plus a good set of
M&S rated tires are legally, and practically, all that is necessary for
98% of winter mountain driving.

However, I have a set of chains (cables, actually) that I've used on the
front once in a great while, mainly to augment braking coming down steep,
icy hills. I used to have a ski cabin at Tahoe in such a circumstance.
After needing to plow into the snow bank to avoid sliding into an
intersection, I started using the chains on bad mornings- just to get down
that hill. Then they would quickly come off.

I doubt you would encounter anything like this on I-5!!
