 None of that made a difference untill the real restriction was taken out.
 
Now I understand!  I didn't think many people were willing to do so much of
their owne work.  I had the machine work done on my head for $95, plus a few
things you didn't mention, but things are generally cheaper in NE PA.  How is
that reground cam holding out?  I've heard good and bad things about them for
20 years.  That's where you saved the most money, and what made us all think
you were full of it.  You mentioned removing the REAL restriction.  IME that
usually involves the bowl area on the exhaust side, the transition from valve
seat to the runner.  I also ruined a set of heads for a SBC about 20 years ago
after I went ape$hit with my dad's Dumor hand grinder.  They worked pretty
good six years later with a little refinement on a big cam, high rev motor,
but I had removed too much material to ever have them work on a
street/compromise engine.  Tell me a little more about what you ground on your
head and how the cam is holding up/working.  How many miles since you did
this?
