  The electronic part of my switch failed and in the process broke the white
metal tang of the mechanical part of the switch. I removed the parts as per
Haines manual. I bought both of the parts i.e. a new elect switch and a new
key switch, however I did not want two different keys for the car so I put the
white metal extension onto the original key switch. This was accomplished by
driving out a small roll pin and then reassembling good parts. I cleaned and
lubed the orig lock tumbler assembly as well. It has been fine for the past
couple of years and I plan on using the new key portion that was left over as
a cool tool box lock!
