Are you sure you don't have it backwards?  The 80/90 type 89 body is
stiffer than the earlier 4000 type 81.  In fact, every newer generation
Audi has improved chassis rigidity compared to what it replaced.

I tend to agree with Ti. If you feel this is not the case, I would love to see
some data to support your claim of chassis rigidity. Another point to keep in
mind is that the 80 chassis will stay rigid longer because of its galvanized
panels.
