RE: CV Joint R&R

You guys are ahead of me...I still haven't figured out how to get an outer
joint off.  
I wanted to take it off to clean and inspect during boot
replacement/cleaning.  But I found I was beating on it so hard I was afraid
of ruining it. So I just blew out all the lod grease with brake cleaner,
etc, repacked, and reassembled.  I slid the boot on from the inner end
after managing to get that joint off the axle.

So I'd like to know how to get the outer joint off without damaging it.
