Hi Jeff,
Last Dec 22 I lost my PERFECT 86 4kCSQ with 89k miles. Did I mention that it
was Perfect ? OK, First I kept a log of all activity (phone calls,
contacts, all paperwork) with the insurance & towing companies, Body shops,
Police ect. (I can send a copy if you'd like.)
Numerous times, the insurance company would route me though different people,
because someone was on vacation, out sick, ect. This got extremely
frustrating, and I relied on my "Log" many times. Most of the response were
positive when I "quoted" another person said to me, or dates that I was
promised action.
The insurance company will obviously try to settle with you for the least
amount, on several occasions I denied the Co's offers. So, Secondly I surfed
the net and found cars that were similar to mine, and cited examples with
them. The adjuster was quite helpful about jumping $ 2k in one meeting.
BUT, I had to fight for my car's value. I did decided to buy it back for a
small price. It will make an excellent parts car.
Third, Know (obviously) that you can't just find a nice 93 V8 any more -
explain this to them ! Insurance companies certainly don't appreciate fine
Audi's, like us listers do. Don't Give In !
Also, I'm NOT saying that Insurance companies or Agents are bad people, but
they ARE in the game to make money, just like any other corporation.
>From your post, It doesn't sound like anyone was hurt - Correct ? Hopefully
not ! Good luck and keep us informed !
