Thanks for the accolades Scott..... know here is my bosses e-mail... :-)

I didn't figure this out quickly....  I used to work a bizillion hours
a week and started leting mechanics fix my car... big mistake for me anyway.

They replaced the battery, voltage regulator and eventually alternator
to the tune of almost $500.- without fixing the problem before I took
a few day's off work and dug in myself....
