Ur-Q Alternator Upgrade Report

You might recall that I got myself into trouble a few weeks back trying to
fit a 110amp alternator into my '83 Ur-Q. I quickly realised that the
mounting and bracket requirements were going to make it pretty difficult.

Avi Meron came to my rescue with an upgrade to my existing alternator, which
has increased the amperage and the voltage (14.8 regulator).

My observations to date have been somewhat superficial, but are not less
significant:

1. My Voltmeter show at least 1 more volt under normal driving conditions
2. I was having the dreaded cut out when engaging my turn signals caused
by the voltage drop brought about by the turn signals draw (yes, I know that
I am going to have to visit current track #15 at the back of my fuse box
again, and put in RDH's mods), but this has completely gone away since the
new alternator has gone in.
3. My battery is much more lively than before. It cranks the engine
perceptably faster than before.

I have not yet measured the voltage at the battery and elsewhere, but the
above signs seem to indicate to my unschooled mind that the new alternator
is making a marked difference.

BTW, I have not yet used it with a/c and I have standard DOT lights.
