Maximum tire size for 1991 200 TQ

Dan, I'm a Audi owner that is new to the net.  I am looking for information
regarding tires and brake 
upgrades.

My Request;
I need a new set of summer tires on my 91 200 tq .  What is the largest tire
that will fit without clearance problems?  I talked to one owner that
installed a set of Nitto NT 450 225x50x15 on his 91 200.  The shop that
installed the tires told him there was room to go one size larger.   I don't
yet have a specific tire brand or model selected but since I will only use
them as summer tires, an aggressive high performance tire is appealling
provided the noise level is acceptable.  I plan to use the stock 15x7 BBS
rims. I understand NOKIA has a new high performance street tire on the
market. If these new tires perform as well as their winter tires, they may
be an option.

Also, I intend to replace my front brakes at the same time.  Has anyone had
experience with Pagid pads on their street driven 5k or non UFO 2c?  I'm
interested in the usual criteria; hot & cold performance, rotor wear,
dusting, noise (squealing/chattering), compound designation (friction
coefficient or color code), where to purchase etc.
 
Any information on these subjects will be appreciated.
