Subject:	FAQ about the Jamex Strut Brace Group Purchase

Frequently Asked Questions about the Jamex Strut Brace Group Purchase

(Some text was used from the Blaufergnugen website, at
http://www.audiquattroparts.com. They are not involved in
the group purchase, but the bar is the same as the one they
carry.)

Q: What does it do for my car?

A: This is what the good folks at Blaufergnugen had to say
    about strut tower braces:

"Adding performance shocks, stiffer springs and wide
low-profile tires puts additional stress on the
front strut towers. Our Strut Tower Brace connects
both towers reducing movement and the flex under
high cornering loads, thus resulting in more direct
steering response, and more sportive driving
characteristics. Looks are impressive. As well,
it's constructed of high strength, lightweight
alloy aluminum. Installation is quick and easy, just
drill 4 holes through the vehicle's strut tower. Give
your Audi the serious look under the hood!

Q: How much is it?

A: Currently $80 plus shipping through the group purchase.

Q: What model cars does it fit?

A: According to the Blaufergnugen website:

    "Application: 1982-92 4KCPEQ (Ur-Q), 4K models, 80/90
     models (All including Quattro)"

Q: What about for my 5000/200/Type 44?

A: John Karasaki, the lister who we are ordering through,
had this to say about that:

"They ("the Jamex guys") are also checking on the front
type 44 bar that they stopped carrying.

Q: What about a rear brace?

A: John Karasaki, the lister who we are ordering through,
had this to say about that:

"I have the Jamex guys researching the rear bars. They
were able to tell me what TAP buys, but when I saw the
picture in the catalog, it was different from the
     picture of Rick Zehr's bar."

Q: Where can I see a picture of the bar?

A: Browse to these websites to see pictures of the brace:

    http://www.audiquattroparts.com/strut_tower_brace.htm
    http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~human/strut-brace.htm

Q: What is going to be the ordering method/Where do I send
the check? How much is shipping? etc...

A: John Karasaki, the lister who we are ordering through,
had this to say about that:

"Jamex will be calling me back by (a promised) noon today.
I'll weigh the one spare bar I have tonight and let you
know how much it will cost to ship. Then you can start
having folks send me checks. We should ship the stress
braces out in the order we received requests..."

Q: Do you have my name down? Do you have me down for the
    correct bar(s)?

A: Browse to my webpage, and look at the list yourself. If
There are any errors or omissions (there are), please
send me an email to auditude@impulsedata.net, and I will
    make the correction.

My main webpage is located at:

The page with the JSBGP information is located at:

    http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/4153/StrutGroup.txt

Q: Why am I coordinating this? (actually nobody asked this one)

A: Because I'm so cool. :-P (and because I like group discounts)
I have made no arrangements to profit off of this, other
than to order a bar just like you guys. However, this is
turning out to be more work than I expected!

Later!
