1996 A4 with 70K plus miles & S4/S6 vs. 1.8/2.8 Q

Last May, I went to a local dealer fully prepared to purchase or lease a 98
A4Q.  While walking with the salesperson through the lot to find the
vehicle in which I had expressed interest, I saw a black S6.  I drove the
A4Q 2.8 and liked it very much.  While the salesperson was working on the
numbers, I asked for the keys to that S6.  I drove it and fell in love,
that was it.  I couldn't tell you which is a better car, and the wisdom of
paying similar $$ for a three year old car is still something my wife has
not come to understand.  Owning a car which is fairly rare is also fun.
