Max Boost/HP? 87 5kcstq

I am new too the Audi scene and I understand the US versions of these cars
are de-tuned significantly when compared to the European versions.  I have a
lot of experience in tuning my American EFI car equipped with a 9 psi
supercharger, but need to learn about the Audi CIS way of doing things.  I
am pretty familiar with VW CIS found on the 84 GTI, and the Audi system
seems pretty similar.

So far what I have learned is the US version has a computer and wastegate
setup for considerably less than the turbo and motor is capable of.  The max
boost I see is about 1.3 Bar absolute (4 psi gauge).  I run 8.5:1
compression ration in a Mustang 5.0 liter with 9 psi boost on 93 octane
without detonation, so I would think the Audi with 7.8:1 compression ratio
should be able to run 11-14 psi (1.8-2.0 Bar)without too much risk of
detonation.  It appears the car is set up for some serious boost based on
the compression ratio,intercooler, oil cooler setup.

How much boost is the stock turbo good for?

What is involved in re-programming the computer for the additional boost?

How much does all this cost?

What level of Horsepower can be made with these mods?

What is a realistic power level for these cars with improvements such as
exhaust, intake and head work?
