KYB and Rear Wagon Shocks

The time has come to replace the  shocks on the 86 5KTQW.  I had planned
on going with KYB's; this is my wife's car and KYBs seemed adequate for
what she does in it...

The fronts don't seem to be a problem locating, etc.  But I recall
hearing various problems getting shocks for the rear of  Q wagons.  Was
it a full rear strut that is hard to find, or can one not get just the
shock cartridge for them?

Could someone please give me the details on whats up with wagon rear
shocks, and what the best solution to the problem(s) is...

Also any other tips on shock replacements would be appreciated
