Re: Battery Vent

Jack;

    The Audi batteries come with a hose barb which connects to the vent hose
you mention. This vents hydrogen and acid fumes outside the car. Ever wonder
why the battery trays on old North American cars are corroded out? Imagine a
hole in the floor under your back seat (my '63 VW bug had one - the
batteries weren't vented in those days, but a piece of 3/4" plywood served
to plug the hole and provide battery support :o)
