Kraftwerk, the grandfathers of techno. Still "active", though the
last album came out in '91. After Autobahn, Radioactivity, TEE,
The Man-Machine (contains The Model) and Computerworld, they
appear to have run out of album themes (Electric Cafe in 86
was weakly centered around synthetic music, and The Mix in '91
is (now digital rather than analog) replays of older material.
Autobahn and TEE, and particularly "Europa Endlos" on the TEE
album, are wonderful driving music, though some people say that
the car-wooshing-by-noises in Autobahn's reststop section
are a tad confusing when actually Autobahn-driving.
SortofObAudi: Saw an article about KW on some UK music web page
recently, titled "Vorsprung durch Techno".
