Mine's had the valve for probably two years or more--no problems. 
The lever is spring loaded so that you have to push it up before 
rotating it (kinda like a reverse lockout, except it _works_). 
Some people have worried about the lever moving if hit by a rock 
or something. With the belly pan in place this is somewhat less 
than likely, but if you're really anal, it would be easy to 
secure the lever with wire or zip-ties.

Of course, I haven't tried to remove it yet. I guess I should do 
that periodically, just to be safe.
