The part that makes me go "hmm" is that all three 4kq's I have owned (2 85's 
and 1 '87) all had their batteries under the hood. Could it be he had it 
relocated under the back seat and it was not properly done? 

In the 5ktq there seems to be plenty of room, but I still tape down the 
insulating caps to be prudent.
