Re: Ignition Rotor

Just recently went through the same thing with my 87 5000CSTQ. The rotor
that AutoZone Gave me ( I got the right spark plugs though) didnt fit.
Went back and took a look at some of the other "Audi" rotors. The one
that was different that seemed to match was for the Wagon. Why? I dont
know, thought they were the same engine. So anyways try that or just go
to the Audi shop!

Subject: Ignition Rotor

I have an 84 Audi 5000 Turbo with a FWD slushbox. I been trying to buy
a distributor ignition
rotor by giving the year, model, etc for information and everyone gives
me the wrong rotor. I can
solve that problem next week by using the Bosch number on my existing
rotor but I am wondering
since I bought the car used if someone changed something. My existing
rotor is part number 1234 33
2374 and the distributor has a small diameter shaft compared to the
rotor they try to sell me which
is 1234 33 2301 which has a larger diameter hole.
Do you think someone changed the distributor in the past or are there
multiple distributor
versions? Euro version?

Thanks in advance,
