Re: Ignition Rotor
Total disclaimer: Part numbers are what we need here, sorry I don't have time to check mine... but on 87 MC engine like mine, I got the wrong rotor three times, too. I pulled it from the car, and the guy at the counter said the number didn't match up with *any* Audi listing... but I was able to get a rotor by visually matching. What matched? (drum roll) Rotor for 009 Bosch distributor, famed for air-cooled VW hi-po apps. About $2.50, as opposed to the $7+ they wanted for the first three "Audi" rotors. I'll get the PN on the dist itself,
but it appears to be stock (no, it's not an 009- I checked(grin))
I have no idea. But the 009 rotor does seem to work perfectly...

Rob

I can solve that problem next week by using the Bosch number on my existing rotor but I am wondering since I bought the car used if someone changed something. My existing rotor is part number 1234 33 2374 and the distributor has a small diameter shaft compared to the rotor they try to sell me which is 1234 33 2301 which has a larger diameter hole.
