Stock WG spring measurements
(Context: my 5kcstq with stock ECU and spring (AFAIK) is reaching 1.5
bar and staying there. The WG diaphragm holds vacuum. The WGFV isn't
even cycling by the time the boost hits 1.4 or 1.5 bar, which led others
to suggest that the WG might have been shimmed or replaced with a
stiffer one.)
I checked the WG spring this morning and found:
- 36 mm overall diameter
- 54 mm free height
- flat ground ends
- 3-1/4 turns (plus the overlapping ends)
- 2.9 mm wire diameter
- 2 blue spots on each turn
>From what I've heard, this matches the description of a stock WG spring
for an MC-1 motor. Correct? I'd be really surprised if the spring were
not stock, from what I know of the PO. Thanks.
