Re: cold start problem - interim report




Jeff:  The diagnostic decision trees found in Bentley are helpful
in  sorting  this out.  By your questions you look to be heading in the
right direction. I would expect leaky injector(s)  to be high on the list
because  I had these symptoms and  Injectors were
replaced under emissions  warranty.  A fuel pressure guage and
proper adapters  are helpful to narrow the possibilities.  You might also
feel your plugs soon after this starting/stumbling ritual to
see which are warm or cold. Pull the cold ones and look for gas.
You can pull  the suspected injector and test it for leakage .  Again,  A
trouble shooting  approach per   Bosch or Bentley
saves alot of  guessing  , and  unnecessary  R&R  of expensive parts.
