On my '95, this symbol (the "MPH" with a circle and 45-degree line
through it, as in: NO MPH) is the speed reminder. You can set it
to whatever speed you're driving, and when you get more than 5 MPH
above that speed, this check symbol comes up.
It is set by pressing the auto-check knob on the speedo, and it
should reset when you turn off the car. I think it can be reset
by holding that knob down for 2 seconds, too.
