Emission diferences in CA Audi's & 90q20v

Hey all,

We're looking at a low mileage '90 90q20v that is originally from California. 
 I've heard the term "California Model" and realize that some cars may have 
different emission setups to be sold in CA.  Does Audi do anything to Cars 
which are shipped to be sold in CA?  Is there a CA model?  If so, what 
difference does it make in performance?  Any other information regarding the 
90q20v would be greatly appreciated as I'm unfamiliar with the model.
