If it's any good, it will know you've hit sixty because it knows you
started at rest and it can integrate the acceleration to determine
speed.  This is such a basic function of intertial navigation that
you can buy chips to do it for peanuts.  It probably has a better idea
of your speed than the car does, because it won't be fooled by tyre size
errors.
