Well, I'm using *a* specialty tool... made by a company called "OEM", bought at
Auto Zone, $12.97, but it's a 7/8ths deepweel 6-point socket with a slot cut in
it.
The OXS sensor in the ur-Q had a series of rings or toroidal segments stacked
above the hex flats. The diameter of these rings is greater than 13/16ths, as
they prevented me from getting a deepwell 13/16th socket down to the flats,
this after I'd cut the wire off.
I just succeeded in cutting the top off the sensor, so now I'm down to what's
left of the flats. I disconncted the fuel supply & return to swing the metering
unit and airflow plate out of the way, then I could remove the air filter housing
and retrieve a couple of items that fell down between it and the fender, as well
have clearance to get to the sensor.
After the cognac takes affect, I'll be able to move again and I'll take another
crack at it. Right now, I can barely move... gotta quit layin' around all winter!
