shiver me timbers - I'm rattled
Seems a bunch of us n'er do wells are up to no good trying
to clear up some old car problems this weekend, so I'll
throw one in. I have a floor board rattle in the 5kq when
accelerating hard on a right hand turn. You can hear it and
feel it in your feet. A fast kind of tap maybe about
10-20/sec. I crawled under and checked the exhaust hangers
(they are all there - amazing), drive train mounts (nothing
totally worn out AFAICT). The rattle seemed to start near
the left rear, but is now more generalized. Vibration is
felt in your feet. Looked at the heat shields and nothing
seems to be amiss ('cept for the right front one to protect
the CV boot from the heat of the exhaust - it's not
there). Centre bearing on the drive shaft seems pretty
solid - couldn't see a grease nipple, may be hidden pretty
well. That's about it. Started to get pretty cold and I
was glad to get out from under.
Something I might have missed? Thanks.
