Or rather - it starts, its runs....
Yes, at last after 2 days of inactivity my 88 Ur quattro started at 21:54
this evening.
It runs, not well - in fact 'rough as a bag of nails' is an apt description,
but I'm not surprized after all the fuel that has been flooding the engine.
The lack of sparks at the coil that developed over night (can a lack
develop?) was probably triggered by me checking the inlet manifold earths
late last night. They tested out as electrically continuous today but in the
end I gave in, said 'Bollocks' very loudly and cut off the terminals. I've
now fitted some brand new crimped and soldered fittings on short jumper
cables connected to the loom earth leads by heavy duty bullet connectors - I
wonder how long they will last....
Tomorrow I'll see what I can do about getting it to run a bit smoother.
