I think all the Type 44s use the same basic pump, and there's only
one (unlike Volvo.) We have noticed that the nuts that the electric wires are
attached to are different sizes between early/late model cars, but that
should be covered by the parts number.

DEFINITELY, unless you like working through two feet of gasoline and
getting it all over you.

Yep. The fuel pump is in a triangular plastic carriage with rubber
shock absorbers. IT WILL ONLY FIT ONE WAY. You can force it in wrong, of
course (as the "mechanic" who had worked on our '88 5K did before we bought
it), but it goes one way. Everything is indexed. Put things back the way you
found them. There is a "timing mark" on the fuel pump to index it into the
plastic carriage, BTW, even though the pump appears to be round.
