Yes, I was there once when Pete replaced a ball joint.  Pat isn't
exagerating at all!  I also saw the groove gouged in the rotors
from the ball joints from insufficient grinding at some point...

Then there is the caliper mounting... two nuts welded to the
side of the strut...
