strut mount replacement
I believe the general consensus is:
fronts -- always replace
rears ---- only if they look bad or feel spongy
There has also been a discussion regarding the
quality of these mounts. You can get a standard front
strut mount for about $15-20, or a heavy duty one for about $50. The rears
are mor expensive than the fronts. I believe BLAU has something on their
web page tech tips regarding this issue.

Subject: strut mount replacement: mandatory?
I am getting ready to replace the struts in my 4kq with
Boge Turbo Gas all around, and I was curious if folks
(other than a greedy shop) recommend replacing the upper
strut mount at the same time, regardless of symptoms or
signs of wear. I intend to get stops, boots, and bushings
at the same time as the struts, but I wasn't sure if I
should go all the way and get mounts too. I'm keeping the
stock springs, by the way.
