It does appear that Team Doorhandle had their summer holidays in the
woods around Recaro.

There is a generic fault in Recaro seats of this vintage, in that the
welds at the top corners are pre-destined to fail.  The chief symptom
is a violent squeak when the shoulders are pressed back into the seat
and wriggled from side to side.

Unfortunately the only solution is to strip the seat back _completely_
and weld the joints back up, adding a fillet of metal to relieve the
strain.  Once you look at the geometry around this weld, it's no
surprise that it fails.
