re: audi tech day in southern NH, USA (timing belt-a-thon, part one)

We've bantered around the idea of a group tech session for various things,
from basic maintenance to timing belts. We've scheduled the first one at my
house in Windham New Hampshire for next weekend, April 24 (extending into the
25th if neccessary or if there's enough people).  Time to be announced;
probably fairly early. There's a pizza/sub place just around the corner for
lunch (they deliver).

We've got room for more people/cars (two car garage, lots of driveway space,
etc.), so if you're interested, please email me (c1j1miller@aol.com) and
Brett Dikeman (brett@pdikeman.ne.mediaone.net).

You're invited if:
1) you want to change your I-5 timing belt, like I will be doing;
2) you want to see someone else change the timing belt;
3) you want to hang out and talk audis;
4) you want to do something else, and would like others around to help out.
5) you've done the timing belt thing before, and would like to offer
assistance to us internet mechanics; and/or
6) you want to paw through my collection of magazines, brochures, etc.

Also, if you've got the timing belt tools, and would like to lend them for
use, please contact me; we'll reimburse for shipping, etc.

If you're interested, but the 24th doesn't work for you, send an email and
we'll plan another day (or days); it will be casual, and you can just drop by
for a bit, as well. Don't assume you're too late to join up; there's room to
do more belts, and we can schedule work for Sunday if there's enough interest.

Call Rod at The Parts Connection and mention my name; he's said he'll sell
the timing belt kit and accessory belt kit at a sale price (around $75 and
$15, respectively). If you order with overnight delivery, there's plenty of
time before the weekend.

We'll be trying to document some of the steps using a digital camera and a
Hi8 video camera, which should help at the next session. I'm sure the pics
will end up on a web page before too long.

My house is at 4 Galway Road, Windham, New Hampshire.
Get off Interstate 93 at exit 3 in New Hampshire. From the north (i.e.,
southbound on I-93), go left (west) off the ramp onto Route 111, and travel
3.3 miles to Balmorra Road. It's just after a big white farmhouse, after Red
Fox Road. Take Balmorra north about 0.1 mile to Galway Road. My house is
the third driveway on the right.
>From the south (I-93 northbound from Massachusetts), the directions are the
same, but travel about 3.9 miles before you get to Balmorra Road.

mapsonus.com will draw you a travel map if this isn't easy enough.
