Over here, it boils at 100 degrees. Over there, it boils at 212 degrees.
There used to be places (perhaps there still are) where it boils at
80 degrees.
Anyway - cooling systems are pressurised to a limit (on Audis) of about
1.4 bar. The cap contains a safety valve - in my own experience, this
operates once and once only. After an event, it has to be discarded.
It's _supposed_ to survive and reset itself - they never do.
