Just tried it- no rattle, so it isn't this flap apparently. Where is it
located?

My passengers agree that the trunk rattle seems to come from the spare
wheel area. I've been able to replicate the sound perfectly by hitting the
inside of the rear fender with the clamp that holds the spare wheel. (Yes,
I suppose I _am_ nuts. At least that's what my neighbours think after they
saw me open the car, get in the back, slam the door really hard a couple of
times, shake my head, get out and lock the car again...)
