Huw,
I recall you commented recently about having a vacuum leak in the back of
your mind. Have you done anything about that yet? :-)

Seriously, though. I think there's no worse "convenience/safety" feature on
cars today than sideview mirrors of the "objects seen in mirror may be
closer than they appear" ilk. Used to be (back in the stone age) that
people who passed me and nearly ripped off my front end as they pulled in
would perhaps realize their stupidity. Nowadays they glance at their
damnable wide-angle mirrors and then wonder why the hell that guy "way"
behind them is having a fit.

A friend of mine used to complain: "_What_ objects in mirror...there _are_
no objects in the mirror, dammit!"
