i am referring to the adjustment of the striking pin in the door jamb.
the pillar terminology is more commonly used in the automotive application
since it usually serves not only as the door jamb, but also as a supporting
structure for the roof.
hence, the "a" pillar is also the windshield frame, the "b" pillar is also
the front door jamb, etc.
depending on the configuration of the particular vehicle, there may also be
"c" and "d" pillars.
