RE: 200tq front suspension clunk

Strut bearing caps. I had these replaced on my '88 Audi 90 because the Les
Schwab alignment guys thought it was the source of my clunk as well. It
improved the steering feel, but the clunk persists. Wonder if they
installed the wrong parts or something? Although my car clunked before they
changed the bearing caps, so that doesn't work in my case. Worth a shot
though. After the fact, I wish I'd known the labor involved. I would have
told them to replace the struts while they were at it...

Erik: I had a similar problem on my '86 turbo. Turned out that I need
new strut top mounts(bearings?).
