Idle problems( was oxygen sensor)
The problem was not the ECU temp sensor as reported earlier today. Starting
from last night I followed the procedure to the letter on Scott's web page
for setting the idle and the mixture. Drove the car for about 20 minutes
and everything was fine. Drove it this morning to work and everything was
fine. Took a test drive at lunch and the problems began. The mixture
started to wander up the scale( 45 Degrees, the 55 degrees and finely up to
about 80 degrees). I went back to work, ran a few errands, and the it keep
getting worse. On the way home I went to my parents house to work on my
Coupe, by this time it was fluctuating at 75 to 85 degrees at idle. On my
back to my house the mixture went so rich that the frequency valve could no
longer compensate for what is going wrong. It is now to the point that it
will early start. I pulled 1 injector and adjusted the mixture screw until
fuel would squirt while cranking. This got the car running again all be it
rough. The mixture is pegged on 90 degrees and will not move from there. I
can adjust the mixture to the lead side until the car will die but the
frequency valve is still running at 90 degrees.
Any ideas? Bad frequency valve, ECU, Fuel distributor.
Any one have the test procedure for these components
Thanks
