Overheating/Normal operating temp - 94 90Sq
Have a 94 90Sq 2.8v6, 5-speed. 75k kms (47k miles)
Last fall had episodes of 'random' overheating...took to dealer and they
found nothing other than a loose hose. They also suspected that the
thermostat was bad...after a couple more overheats I had the thermostat
replaced and all seemed OK until today.
The car warms up, gets to about 1/2 way on the guage (100degrees C),
then cools back down to 90C (this used to be the normal reading), then
goes back up again. It then does one of three things....cools back down
to 90 and repeats the cycle, boils over (IE spills coolant) or it keeps
heating up until the temp warning light comes on.
Any ideas out there?? I am also interested in what other car's
"normal" operating temp is on their temp guage. I can convert it to
Celcius for temps from US folks.
Aggh..Of course this happens just as I was about to put the brand new
tires 'n wheels on for the summer! Also dreading the idea of the visit
to the local VW/Audi dealer (98% VW and "recent" Audi)....Hmmm wonder if
I can get my injectors done at the same time.
