since you are the only list member i know of who has complained about cost
per byte, perhaps you could put some perspective on the problem by giving
us an idea of the actual costs involved.
i'm guessing that with terse headers/sigs and reasonable use of quoted
content, you would save no more than 100k/day.
(about as big as a small-to-medium-sized jpeg...)
