Cruise control fun
Finally got off my butt last weekend and decided to troubleshoot the CC.
Removed glovebox, pulled out the connector and whipped out the VOM..
Followed the Bentley. All checked out except vac pump wouldn't run.
Checked continuity on all 3 wires. Hot good, control ground infinite
(I'm finding Audi loves to switch ground over hot - what is this - a
Jaguar?). Third wire good. Grumple with visions of running a replacement
15 foot wire. Checked wiring again, decided to try breaking it in the
middle at connector. Couldn't find anywhere in Bentley for locations
(specifically T5b blue left eng wiring harness). Decided to try hand
over handing through the dash. Not a good plan.
Removed drivers side knee buster and there were all connectors right
next to aux relay panel. On close inspection, found blue connector
backed off approx 1/8 in (coupla mm, Phil) and not locked - right on the
end where suspect bl/w wire was located. Pushed back on to snap and
lock. Problem solved...
